I thought it was a shame that the audio was so bad because other than that it was a great little project. After the pilot screened at SIU the producer decided to invite me to do a complete overhaul of the sound. I rerecorded all of the dialogue and added lots more music and sound effects. I was concerned about how the ADR would turn out but I think that most of the time it sounds quite good; of course there are places where it's not perfect but I think that just adds a quirky Japanese dubbed quality to it that makes me love it a little more. (Or maybe that's just what I tell myself so I can sleep at night I'm not sure.) Anyway, we are submitting the project for a student Emmy, so fingers crossed that we will be nominated! I can't even fathom how excited I would be about that. I'm going to post some clips of the finished project in my resume folder very soon so feel free to check those out if you are curious.
Also In the last few months I had my first season of traveling and actually playing other teams in roller derby! It was pretty crazy and I took some hard hits but I survived the season and have improved quite a bit. I certainly never thought I would see myself jam in game but it happened and I even scored 4 points once! Also the picture to the right was taken by my friend Jeffery Bazzell and will probably be my favorite picture of myself of all time.
Some other minor stuff happened in the last six months, I got a full-time bill paying job as the Internet manager of a local car dealership. It's certainly not my dream job but it pays the bills and allows me to do what I love at night and on the weekends. I'm saving up money in hopes of being able to make a big move to Nashville Tennessee where I'll be looking for a full-time job in audio production. I really enjoyed working on Robbie and I think working on children's shows might just be my dream job.
Oh yeah, in September my boyfriend became my fiance and that was certainly a pleasant surprise! So you know, not much going on just a whole bunch of life changing amazingness and somehow in all the hubbub I ignored my little corner of the Internet. My Bad! Check out the Robbie clips in my portfolio and look for more posts coming soon!
