Audio Portfolio

Film Work

This has been my labor of love for quite some time. It's a pilot for a children's show called Robbie The Space Raccoon. When the producer first brought it to me the audio was unusable so I had to ADR all of the dialog. I also added all of the sound effects and mixed the whole thing. I did some of the foley myself and some I got from freesound.org. These are just a few clips from the 20 minute long pilot which helped solidify my idea that I would love to do sound for children's shows.

In this scene the team teleports to planet Bean Sprout 6 and saves a life!

In this scene Robbie sneaks off the ship and learns a lesson.

This is a song about breakfast!

My final project in RT 496, Sound and Moving Image was to remove all the audio from a scene and redo it from scratch. I chose the cartoon show Adventure Time because I love cartoons and the freedom they give you to be creative with audio. This is my final project.

RADIO WORK

For the Final project in my Advanced Audio Production class, I had the freedom to do choose any project I wanted. I have always wanted to convert one of my favorite short stories, Inconstant Moon by Larry Niven into a radio play. It was a big task to undertake and I had help from my partner Lucas McCallister. I wrote the script, modernized it a little, and voiced the part of Leslie. We produced and edited the project together. The music is all from Jamendo.com, a creative commons music network. Here is the project in it’s entirety. I hope to put up clips at a later date.

My Junior year of college I made this great little sound scape for an audio production class. It's a 3 minute horror piece wherein I'm lost in the woods with a boyfriend and we begin hearing strange noises. I made the monster sounds with raw chicken, celery, and measuring tape scraping across a chalk board. I also recorded a fantastic echoey scream in a stair case which really makes the piece. Enjoy!

This is a fun little project from my Junior year of college. I found the script for an old radio play called "The Strange Tales of Doctor Weird" and rerecorded the whole thing. All of the sound effects are from Freesound.org and the music is from old public domain radio plays I found on archive.org. Not only did I record this but I also voiced the evil femme fatal Blanch! I only posted my favorite half of the project for time's sake.

WPCD is the student-run Alt-Rock station of Parkland College. I have worked +40 hours there as a DJ, and have done news casts and read weather forecasts. I also did a weekend specialty show called “Chicks in Charge”, a 2 hour music program with only female artists.

For the completion of my Com 143 Course, we were asked to “make a Radio Station”. We had to create an hour’s worth of programming with Music, DJ talk, Liners, and Promotions. These are some excerpts from my project, which was based around the same ideas as my specialty show.

One of the first assignments for my Producing For Radio class was to make a commercial for any product real or fictional. I chose to go with a comedic route for a product that I made up.

My senior year of college a friend and I started a radio show called "Rockin Rainbow" under the assumed names of Stone Cold Jane Austen and Paige Turner. The premise of the show was that we would discuss a book and play music that went with it. I came up with the idea when I read the book "As I Lay Dying" and shortly after finishing a chapter where it is revealed that one of the characters in the book is the illegitimate child of a preacher I heard Dusty Springfield's song "Son of a Preacher Man" and I died laughing. Books and Music are my two passions and combining them made a very special show.

In this segment we discuss some background on the book Harry Potter and I give some disappointing facts.
